How about using a black water buffalo horn seal as a substitute for a guitar nut?
This is leftover stock from a relative who closed their seal engraving business 40 years ago.
It's a black buffalo horn seal, oval-shaped.
How about using it as nut material?
If you shave down the rounded parts to create edges, you can make blank nuts of the following size.
I believe it would make a blank nut of the perfect size for Stratocasters, Telecasters, etc.
Height: 8mm
Thickness: 4mm
Neck Width: 60mm
60 x 4 x 8mm
This provides sufficient height, thickness, and width.
Since the original size is also small, I think the amount you need to shave off will be minimal.
We have over 10 in stock, so please inquire!
Price is ¥1300 per piece, including shipping.
Of course, you could also use it as a seal as originally intended.
It's roughly shaped, but I tried shaving one down myself as a test.
I've included photos as a sample.
