Noh Mask - Komai - Japanese Culture - Traditional Performing Arts
198.00 $
Description
This is a work from my grandfather, who was a Noh mask carver, made about 30 years ago.
He was also a stage master (Kanze school) and created numerous masks.
Each hand-carved Ko-omote mask has a unique expression, but those who understand masks will surely appreciate the gentle and beautiful expression of this particular Ko-omote.
Includes mask bag.
Includes paulownia wood box (please note that the box has age-related cracks).
I would be delighted if someone who appreciates the value of the mask's expression purchases it.
Thank you for your understanding if you are not overly sensitive to minor imperfections.
