Stunning large Georges Briard Golden Celeste serving tray or shallow dish featuring an elegant Mid-Century Modern design in blue and 22K gold.  The beautiful Golden Celeste pattern incorporates stylized suns, lyres, columns, laurel wreaths, geometric motifs and other classical-inspired designs arranged in a striking patchwork-style composition. The combination of gold and blue gives this piece a sophisticated MCM look that would be gorgeous displayed on a coffee table, bar cart, bookshelf or used for entertaining. The 22K gold decoration is mostly intact, with some discoloration/wear consistent with age. The Georges Briard signature remains strong and clearly visible. No cracks or chips. One corner is somewhat more rounded than the others; however, the edge is smooth and not rough or chipped. I believe this is a manufacturing characteristic rather than damage.
