【Excellent Condition】Shigeuemon Nakazato Hirado Mikawachi White Porcelain High Relief Dragon and Cloud Design Large Incense Case Approx. Under 12cm

This is a large white porcelain incense container with a high relief cloud and dragon design by Shigeemon Nakazato, a renowned artist from Mikawachi Ware (Hirado Ware). Using the family's traditional Okiage technique, the dragon's whiskers, scales, and sharp claws are intricately sculpted in three dimensions, appearing so lifelike they seem ready to spring into action.

【Highlights of the Artwork】
Overwhelming Sculptural Beauty: The detail, especially the dragon's whiskers which are completely raised from the body, is a supreme technique unique to the Shigeemon family.

Rare Size: With a diameter of just under 12 cm, it is slightly larger than a typical incense container, offering a remarkable presence when displayed.

Signature: There is a nail-engraved signature Shigeemon on the bottom.

【Dimensions】 Diameter: Approx. 12 cm, Height: Approx. 3.5 cm (including lid)

【Condition】 While the craftsmanship is extremely delicate, there are no noticeable chips or breaks in the dragon's whiskers or claws. It is very rare to find such intricate work remaining in near-perfect condition. As this is an old item, please forgive minor dirt on the bottom.

【Shipping】 As this is a very fragile and delicate piece, it will be carefully wrapped in cushioning material and shipped in a cardboard box.
