This is an old, lacquered jubako (tiered bento box). It is a container made by applying lacquer to the surface of wood, enhancing its durability and beauty.
This 5-tier jubako is perfect for special occasions such as Osechi Ryori (New Year's food), bento boxes, or company cherry blossom viewing parties.
It comes with two lids, allowing you to use it as a 3-tier and a 2-tier set, effectively functioning as two separate sets.
Size: 7-inch Jubako (approx. 21cm per side)
A 7-inch jubako is a medium size, ideal for meals for 3-5 people or for Osechi.
The interior dimensions of each tier are approximately 20-21cm square, with a height of about 4.7cm. It offers high storage capacity and creates a festive presentation, making it highly recommended.
A handmade quilted bag was used for carrying and protecting the jubako when stored. The two lids also come with cotton bags.
It has been used very little, and no noticeable scratches are apparent.
