The Hamilton Collection U.S.S. Constitution (“Old Ironsides”) by Tom Freeman Collector's Plate 1270A with Certificate of Authenticity.  One of six frigates authorized by act of Congress, the U.S.S. Constitution was built in Boston, Massachusetts and launched in 1797.  The ship is shown here rounding Gibraltar in 1804, on her way to Tripoli to protect American merchant ships from pirates along the Barbary Coast.
