Vintage Heishman Oversized Fruit Grapevine Hand Painted Needlepoint Canvas 1990s

An extraordinary oversized vintage Heishman hand painted needlepoint canvas, featuring a lush espalier-style arrangement of grapevines surrounding a central harvest of fruit. This is a truly impressive canvas—the painted design alone measures approximately 35.5 wide x 23.25 tall. Twisting brown vines and abundant green foliage spread across the composition, laden with clusters of burgundy, deep blue and pale green grapes. At the center is a colorful harvest arrangement incorporating pears, apples and warm orange fruit. Small white highlights painted throughout the darker grapes add wonderful dimension. The canvas is signed Heishman. Heishman is documented as a needlepoint designer with fruit-themed canvases, including designs marketed as Summer Fruits and Pears. With its sophisticated muted palette and monumental size, this would make a spectacular finished wall tapestry, large framed needlepoint or statement textile artwork. It has much more of an Old World still-life or vineyard feel than a typical decorative needlepoint canvas.
