I first encountered batik 30 years ago when I lived in East Java.
I was drawn to the deep colors, the cool yet warm and durable fabric, and wanted to share the various items I made with batik. That's why I started selling them.
The batik, dyed with natural pigments from ingredients like mangosteen peels and plants, does not fade even after 30 years.
Batik, registered as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, is a treasure of Indonesia.
I hope many people will discover the beauty of batik and let its deep colors enrich their lives.
