Description
This is a genuine antique two-piece tin chocolate/candy mold featuring a sitting rabbit — a highly collectible piece from the golden era of confectionery mold making. A beautifully detailed seated/sitting rabbit in profile with upright ears and finely textured fur coat rendered in raised relief — exceptional detail for a mold of this size. Based on the construction, patina, and style this mold is most consistent with late 19th to early 20th century — approximately 1880s–1930s — the golden era of tin chocolate mold production. Double-sided half mold with a flat mounting plate and attachment holes. Complete with one original locking pin. The flat rectangular clamp/tab visible on the left side is the original joining mechanism used to mate the two halves during casting Two visible attachment holes on the mounting plate consistent with commercial production frame use.
