This is a垂 (tare - lower body armor) from Kumamoto KIZUNA Budogu, a 2-bu stitched, practical, lightweight, and flexible model.
It is said that over 10 years ago, when Kizuna Budogu opened with the support of Eiko Budogu, a friend who was in the Metropolitan Police Department's Riot Police saw a flyer sent to the police station and ordered a full set. This tare was the only item left from that order.
As it is an early product, there is no tag attached.

While practical, lightweight, and flexible剣道具 (kendogu - martial arts equipment) are now mainstream, they were quite innovative concepts at the time. Especially for high-quality hand-stitched items, they were very rare. This tare was purchased soon after its release, used in several years of local tournaments, then used for practice before being passed on to a child. However, the child quit kendo, and after various twists and turns, only the tare remained.

Although it has been used, the frequency of use was low, and it is in good condition. The marks from the kote (gloves) and the indigo dye remain, so it can still be used for a long time.
There are no tears or damage, only minor scuffs from use, but these do not affect its usability.

It is said to have fit perfectly at 170 cm and 75 kg at the time.
