① The Phantom Yakushima Natural Inkstone
② The finest inkstone material recommended by ancient texts, the famous Yakushima Rust Water Stone
[7] Condition: No noticeable scratches or damage.
[8] Shape: Natural Inkstone
◉ Yakushima stone is described in old literature as: The stone is dense, the ink grinds well, and the inkstone quality is high. Yakushima stone from Satsuma Province should be considered the foremost inkstone material.
It is also praised as a famous stone with a feel comparable to Duanxi inkstones from China.
◉ This piece is a reasonably sized Yakushima stone inkstone, making full use of the natural stone.
There are no particular stone patterns visible on the surface, which is very fine-grained and sparkles with a silvery reflection when light is shone upon it.
While many Rust Water Stones have holes or rough, uneven surfaces due to their formation process, the right side of this inkstone has been carefully and smoothly finished by cutting it into a straight line.
Due to its size and form, this piece is suitable for women who prefer writing kana or small characters.
We hope you will consider owning this piece.
It is offered at an affordable price.
Please consider it.
