Symptoms of Toshiba vacuum cleaner's self-propelled head rotating brush not rotating, or rotating after impact, will eventually lead to it not rotating at all after a few weeks. However, it will rotate if the head is turned upside down or impacted.
In this case, the motor is still functional, and the problem is a faulty internal microswitch. Replacing this part will fix the issue.
When the brush doesn't rotate even after cleaning it, disassemble the head and replace this part on the brush base.
Disassembly diagrams and illustrated instructions are included.
