[Handmade] Shikishi 2-Piece Set Hand-Painted Iris (Ayame) / Biwa Signature and Seal Included
Product Description
Thank you for looking.
This is a set of 2 handmade shikishi that evoke the colors of the four seasons.
The iris is painted in soft, gentle colors, and the biwa is depicted realistically and powerfully. Each piece showcases the artist's unique charm and individuality.
[Artwork Details]
1. Iris (Ayame): Beautifully rendered with a soft purple gradient, depicting a gracefully blooming iris by the water with delicate brushstrokes. There is a year mark '87, a signature, and a seal in the lower left corner, giving it a profound charm that evokes the passage of time.
2. Biwa: The fresh fruit and the texture of the thick leaves are carefully expressed. The subdued colors make it perfect for autumn or early summer arrangements. This piece also has a signature and seal in the lower right corner.
[Product Features]
• High-Quality Paper: Both shikishi use elegant paper with fine sand-like (gold powder) flecks, which shimmer slightly in the light.
• Gold Border Finish: The borders are finished with gold, giving them a dignified appearance. They look great framed or displayed as is in a Japanese-style room or living room.
[Condition]
As these are old items, there are very slight, pinpoint stains on the paper due to age. However, these do not detract from the charm of the handmade paintings and add to their antique appeal.
