Silver Mexican 5 Peso Virgin Mary Coin Pendant Hand Carved Vintage Collectible

This unique piece is an authentic Mexican cut out coin pendant meticulously handcrafted by a skilled folk artisan from a vintage Mexican coin. The center shows the classic depiction of Our Lady of Guadalupe standing with hands clasped in prayer surrounded by her traditional radiant sunburst halo. The artisan fully removed the original coin face. They hand sawed a highly intricate symmetrical open work scroll border featuring six blooming roses wrapped around the centerpiece. This is deeply symbolic as roses are a central element in the miracle story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The back preserves the official Mexican Coat of Arms. A solid silver loop bail is soldered to the top rim.
