【Late Muromachi to Momoyama Period】Masterpiece Tsuba! Brass Base, Old Metalwork Tsuba

This is one of the most treasured items in my tsuba collection.
It is a brass tsuba (so-called Sendoku-kin) with irregular kozuka and kogai hitsu (holes on either side of the nakago-ana), a seppa-dai thickness of 3mm which is quite thin, and traces of brass rods used to secure the seppa on the seppa-dai. All these features are characteristic of tsuba from the Muromachi to Momoyama periods.
This item has not been appraised. I have not submitted it for appraisal by the NTHK (Nihon Token Hozon Kyokai), so it has not been rejected. In the past, I showed it to someone who researches tsuba, and they mentioned that it had a similar period feel.
I highly recommend submitting it for appraisal.

The antique patina of the brass and the weathered lead used to fill the kogai-hitsu give a sense of the depth of its age.

To be honest, I am hesitant to sell this tsuba, but I would like to pass it on to someone who can appreciate the beauty of a period tsuba.
It is not suitable for a koshirae intended for vigorous iai practice.
I await purchase from someone who will cherish it as a collector's item.
