This is an iaijutsu sword, so it is not sharpened and cannot cut.
It is a safe martial arts tool that does not require registration.

This is a domestically produced, high-quality art iaijutsu sword.
It is a highly detailed replica, faithfully reproducing the hamon (temper line) of the [National Treasure] Heshikiri Hasebe, famous as the beloved sword of Oda Nobunaga.

While it is a martial arts tool for practice, its primary purpose is as a work of art.
However, the construction is solid and in the style of an iaijutsu sword, so it can be used for iaijutsu practice without issue. (The original box clearly states Iaijutsu Sword, so please rest assured.)

The tsuba, habaki, seppa, and blade are all firm with no rattling. The koiguchi is slightly loose, but I have intentionally not adjusted it as I have handled it for display rather than practice.
There are some scuff marks from normal use, but overall the condition is good.

The aforementioned exquisite hamon is incredibly beautiful and captivating. The quality of the koshirae (mountings) is also high, making it a top-class decoration for a tokonoma (alcove).
I acquired it from a collector a few months ago, but I am decluttering as part of a significant collection reorganization.
